چکیده

Climate change is exacerbating water shortages in upstream basins the Korean peninsula that lack agricultural supply systems. The basin investigated this study requires an extra 208 m3·d?1 of during May (the busiest month for agriculture). purpose was to assess a hybrid-artificial recharge and circulation system, which composed hybrid-recharge source re-infiltration pumped field, estimate yield capacity by field injection test numerical model. Injecting pretreated stream 42 d increased groundwater levels basin. Water budget analysis MODFLOW simulations revealed injecting as well discharge due terrain’s gentle slope. To prevent downstream maintain after injection, we assumed installation underground barrier at outlet model, following changes balance were simulated. level persistently maintained ~31-cm rise, 590 could be supplied from collector well, can ease shortages. Therefore, it necessary develop structures recharged escape when artificially recharging small basins. In areas where reservoirs or conduits are unfeasible, artificial systems solve

Infilterability Reduction of Artificial Recharge of Groundwater System in a Desert in the Absence of Sowbugs

Floodwater spreading for the artificial recharge of groundwater (ARG) is a logical alternative to build large dams for water resources management in dry environments so that it not only enhances water security, but also reclaims the degraded land due to the settlement of suspended load on the spreaders. However, translocation of very fine clay minerals existing in floodwater decreases the infil...

Artificial recharge of groundwater: hydrogeology and engineering

Artificial recharge of groundwater is achieved by putting surface water in basins. furrows, ditches, or other facilities where it infiltrates into the soil and moves downward to recharge aquifers. Artificial recharge is increasingly used for shortor long-term underground storage. where it has several advantages over surface storage, and in water reuse. Artificial recharge requires permeable sur...

Pathogen survival in groundwater during artificial recharge

Wastewater can be regarded as a valuable resource that can be re used in various ways, creating more sustainable societies which can benefit both human communities and the environment. An issue when using reclaimed water is the potential presence of health hazards such as microbial pathogens. The presence of pathogens can often impact on the type of water reclamation project selected. Artifici...

Groundwater Recharge Assessment: a Key Component of River Basin Management

Groundwater recharge estimates are required for the management of river basin districts under the new Water Framework Directive. Different recharge estimation techniques are described in this paper according to the following categories: inflow estimation, aquifer response analysis, outflow estimation and catchment water balance. Examples of their application in Ireland are provided. All estimat...

Effects of Heavy Pumping and Artificial Groundwater Recharge Pond on the Aquifer System of Langat Basin, Malaysia

The paper aims at evaluating the effects of heavy groundwater withdrawal and artificial groundwater recharge of an exmining pond to the aquifer system of the Langat Basin through the three-dimensional (3D) numerical modeling. Many mining sites have been left behind from the massive mining exploitations in Malaysia during the England colonization era and from the last few decades. These sites ar...
